Using body and mind to help you get more and better sleep

Sleep plays a critical role in maintaining a healthy body & mind. Tossing and turning all night is never fun, so in this month’s edition of Ignite we want to look at some techniques you can use to help you get more, and better quality sleep each night.

We will look at some simple mindfulness exercises which can help you calm your mind in the run up to bedtime. Mindfulness helps you take charge of your busy mind, and move it from worrying about everything into a more relaxed state.

We will also take a look at some simple yoga exercises, with Yoga instructor Elsa Rodrigues, which you can make part of your routine. Certain resting poses can be particularly helpful for combatting restlessness and insomnia, especially when practiced in the evening or in bed before hitting the hay.

So hopefully you’ll also find it’s just the thing you’ve been looking for if sleep sometimes seems elusive.
